Riverwalk: 2021 Holiday Shopping Made Easy

December 11, 2020

During this time next year at the master-planned community of Riverstone, the fun of holiday shopping will be just around the corner from home—at the planned mixed-use, lifestyle retail destination known as Riverwalk.

Featuring a contemporary style accented by creative landscaping and water features, Riverwalk is planned to include condominiums, offices, restaurants, retail stores and a movie theater. Image is an artist’s rendition.
Offering a variety of popular stores, fast casual dining options and more, the upcoming Riverwalk retail destination will bring everyday conveniences close to home. Image is an artist’s rendition.

Situated at Avenue 12 and Highway 41 just north of Fresno, the future Riverwalk is planned to offer visitors a one-of-a-kind retail experience—and serve as a vibrant, indoor-outdoor retail destination that becomes a social epicenter for the entire region.

Totaling one million square feet, Riverwalk is envisioned to include restaurants and retail stores, offices, a movie theater and a limited collection of above-retail condominiums promising a unique way of life within a dynamic setting.

“We believe next year’s holiday season will be an especially wonderful and festive time for our resident families,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “Riverwalk will be located just across the road from our new-home collections, so residents can easily drop by for not only holiday shopping, but to also enjoy all the things we love to do during the holidays—like catching a movie and enjoying a delicious restaurant meal with family and friends.”

The construction continues at Riverwalk and the first stores are anticipated to open Summer 2021. One of the first tenants will be Dutch Bros. Coffee, a much-loved brand that serves specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, freezes, teas and more. Having started as a single espresso pushcart in the small town of Grants Pass, Oregon, Dutch Bros. Coffee now has more than 400 locations in nine western states. The company has always focused more on people than the bottom line, with a desire to transform lives rather than conduct transactions. In fact, in 2011, Dutch Bros. Coffee donated over $1 million to nonprofit organizations, including local food banks and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Also coming to Riverwalk is Papi’s Mex Grill, a local favorite that has been serving authentic and delicious Mexican food in the Valley for almost a decade. The award-winning Papi’s focuses on grilled Mexican dishes like fajitas, seafood specialties and amazing tacos. Papi’s is also very well known for serving amazing margaritas with all-day happy hours on Sundays and Mondays.

Dutch Bros. Coffee and Papi’s Mex Grill are sure to be a hit with busy parents during school season at Riverstone’s brand-new Stone Creek Elementary school—which is right on track to open in time for the 2021 school year. Belonging to Madera’s #1 school district—Golden Valley Unified—the innovative 15.5-acre campus is planned to feature tech-forward 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces, an outdoor amphitheater and a dynamic sports complex.

The future on-site elementary school and Riverwalk retail destination are just two of the things people love most about Riverstone, and they most likely factored into Riverstone’s nomination to receive the CVLUX Community of the Year Award. Riverstone won the prestigious accolade in 2019 and 2020, and has recently been nominated to receive the award for a third time.

Determined by the voting public, the CVLUX recognition honors only the best of the best in the Central Valley. Those who wish to vote for Riverstone may cast their ballots online by visiting www.cvlux.com/vote. To vote for Riverstone, click the Vote Now button, then scroll down to #14, Best Community. Voting will close on January 15th, 2021, and the winners will be announced at the CVLUX Luxury Awards on March 12th, 2021.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes. Coming soon is the one-million-square-foot Riverwalk mixed-use lifestyle retail destination. Amenities at Riverstone include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, a dog park, a sustainable water supply and The Lodge community clubhouse with resort-style swimming pools, a trainer-designed fitness center, demonstration kitchen, Gear Barn, outdoor gathering spaces with firepits, and ongoing monthly activities such as self-defense classes, book clubs, arts and crafts, specialty meal cooking classes and more. Future amenities are anticipated to include hiking and biking trails, a community farm and the on-site Stone Creek Elementary school belonging to the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District.
