Riverstone Community is Award-Winning in Every Way

September 9, 2018

Earlier this year, Riverstone was awarded the prestigious Gold Award for 2018 Best Master-Planned Community of The Year from The Nationals—the nation’s largest competition for new-home communities. Every day since, the 2,000-acre Madera County community has been living up to the highly coveted distinction.

The Lodge at Riverstone’s resort-style pool and children’s pool are both ideal for refreshing family fun. Residents can also lounge in style within comfortable poolside cabanas.
Riverstone’s Garden Park features barbecue areas, a kids’ play structure and a large communal table for outdoor dining. It’s one of five parks in the community’s Lodge District residential neighborhood.

“Our recognition as the nation’s Best Master-Planned Community of The Year back in January was obviously a great honor, especially in light of the formidable finalists throughout the U.S. and Canada vying for the award,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “The award has inspired us to work even harder, and to think even bigger, to make Riverstone the kind of place people simply can’t wait to come home to.”

A much-loved amenity—and contributing factor to Riverstone’s winning ways—is The Lodge community clubhouse. Situated in the heart of the Lodge District residential neighborhood, The Lodge features an architectural style the architect calls ‘deconstructed agrarian industrialism’, with open, exposed beams, grand windows for inspired views, and authentic building materials that are permanent and lasting.

Within the beautiful interior spaces of The Lodge, residents are free to enjoy an array of exceptional amenities including a Great Room and flexible gathering places with WiFi, a demonstration kitchen, and a state-of-the-art Fitness Center with advanced exercise equipment. Just outside, The Lodge features a resort-style pool and spa with poolside cabanas, a children’s pool, an outdoor bar with firepit conversation areas, a community garden and a Gear Barn outfitter’s cabin featuring a variety of gear available for homeowners’ on- and off-site adventures.

The Lodge has become the social epicenter for family parties and get-togethers for many residents, all with an on-site Concierge who is available to assist homeowners in the planning of their events. An ongoing schedule of exciting monthly events also adds to Riverstone’s strong sense of community—from yoga and circuit exercise classes, to game nights, to specially themed dinners.

Community-wide events have already earned the reputation for epic family fun. For instance, at Riverstone’s very first Easter Egg Hunt this past March, more than 100 children and their families enjoyed a Bounce House, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, and an event lawn sprinkled with a staggering 1,000 hidden Easter eggs.

Since a quality education is top-of-mind for many of today’s homebuyers, Riverstone’s future on-site elementary school will belong to the Golden Valley Unified School District. An award-winning district known for its academic excellence and strong athletics program, Golden Valley USD comprises nine schools serving nearly 2,000 students. The district maintains an exceptional student-teacher ratio of 24:1, and was named a Silver Award recipient for Best High Schools from U.S. News & World Report.

The future education campus at Riverstone—anticipated to open in time for the 2021 school year—is planned to accommodate 625 students and feature 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces, a large outdoor amphitheater and a dynamic sports complex.

Playtime is also right around the corner from home with Riverstone’s abundance of parks. Families are currently enjoying two parks within the Lodge District neighborhood—and three more parks are on the way.

Adventure Park is an active play area with spaces designed for children from ages two and up. The park features play structures, table tennis, climbing boulders and the fun of three different slides—all with a soft, spongy ground to safely cushion youngsters’ falls.

Riverstone’s Garden Park—designed for more relaxing, adult-sized fun—features barbecue areas, bocce ball, shade structures and a large communal table ideal for outdoor dining.

The three planned additional parks coming to Riverstone include Pavilion Park, which will open soon and feature play equipment, tire swings and an enclosed mini field for soccer and field hockey. Construction will be starting soon for Expedition Park, which is planned to offer a play structure, ping pong, community tables and barbecue areas; and Tournament Park, which is expected to include an outdoor shade structure, two pickle ball courts and a creative, street-like play area where kids can safely ride bikes. Also coming to the Lodge District are planned hiking and biking trails as well as a community farm and a dog park.

The collections of new homes at Riverstone are just what you’d expect from the 2018 Best Master-Planned Community of the Year. The American Dream is available in all shapes and sizes from some of today’s most respected homebuilders—D.R. Horton, Lennar Homes and McCaffrey Homes.

Riverstone has also been nominated by CVLUX magazine to receive a 2019 Luxury Award, a prestigious accolade honoring the best of the best in the Central Valley. The winners will be announced at the Luxury Awards in January.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes, as well as commercial and mixed-use space including office, service and retail. Amenities at Riverstone are anticipated to include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, multiple community clubhouses, hiking and biking trails, a dog park, a community farm, historic olive and citrus groves, a sustainable water supply, and on-site schools belonging to the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District.
