Riverstone Life is About Community Togetherness

September 8, 2018

The esteemed judges who recently named Riverstone the nation’s best Master-Planned Community of The Year were obviously very impressed with the destination’s overall land plan, collection of amenities, responsibly minded landscape and sustainable water supply. But Riverstone’s residents enthusiastically offer up one more award-winning reason: the undeniable sense of community and belonging.

This past August, Riverstone residents gathered on the Event Lawn at The Lodge for a free Summer Concert featuring the Reckless Country Band.
Kids enjoyed reptile-handling fun at Riverstone’s three-day KidsFest Summer Camp last month, which included everything from gymnastics and swimming, to zip-lining and water balloon fun.

“Our homeowners often tell me that Riverstone feels like one big, happy family,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “It’s always satisfying to hear that comment because that’s exactly what we intended. With our many family-oriented amenities, shared gathering spaces and long list of ongoing events including community-wide celebrations, we’re creating opportunities for people to enjoy a sense of belonging—and actually have a relationship with their neighbors.”

The Lodge at Riverstone—the community’s first resort-style clubhouse—has become the social epicenter for all kinds of get-togethers. In addition to seasonal, community-wide events, the helpful Concierge staff at The Lodge is available to help residents plan their very own family celebrations—whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or some other milestone.

Adding to Riverstone’s sociable fun is its ongoing schedule of exciting monthly activities for all ages. This past August, resident families gathered outdoors at The Lodge for a Summer Concert, and floated around in the pool for a special “dive-in” Movie Night enjoying Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time.

Of course, the happiest campers in August took part in Riverstone’s KidsFest Summer Camp, which essentially packed a summer’s worth of fun into three days. For only $12 per child, kids ages 3-12 received a camp t-shirt, PB&J sandwich lunches, and three full days of activities—including gymnastics, swimming, zip-lining, Bounce Houses, water balloon fun and many more.

September’s lineup of activities includes everything from yoga and circuit exercise classes, to cooking demonstrations, to a special Corks & Forks spaghetti and wine dinner scheduled for the end of the month.

However, Riverstone’s community-wide events are the ones that have earned the reputation for the most epic family fun. For instance, at Riverstone’s very first Easter Egg Hunt this past March, more than 100 children and their families enjoyed a Bounce House, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, and an event lawn sprinkled with a staggering 1,000 hidden Easter eggs. To celebrate title-deciding football fun back in February, Riverstone’s Big Bowl Super Party treated more than 250 partygoers to great food and drink, 10 big-screen TVs showing every minute of the football action, plus a Bounce House, popcorn and cotton candy for Riverstone’s youngest residents.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes, as well as commercial and mixed-use space including office, service and retail. Amenities at Riverstone are anticipated to include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, multiple community clubhouses, hiking and biking trails, a dog park, a community farm, historic olive and citrus groves, a sustainable water supply, and on-site schools belonging to the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District.
