Staying Healthy & Fit at Riverstone

September 02, 2022

Since day one, the 2,000-acre master-planned community of Riverstone just north of Fresno has made health and wellness a priority. With fitness-forward amenities and engaging activities and social experiences for every member of one’s family, opportunities to remain physically and mentally healthy are right outside residents’ front doors.

Riverstone’s trainer-designed Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art facility offering a variety of advanced strength- and cardio-focused exercise equipment as well as free weights.
The first section of the Old Farm Trail is open, an exciting hiking and biking trail through beautiful scenery reserved exclusively for Riverstone residents.

Located within The Lodge community clubhouse, Riverstone’s Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art facility—an innovative, fitness trainer-designed venue offering advanced exercise equipment as well as free weights.

“Giving our residents convenient and exciting options to stay their best health-wise remains one of our most important goals,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “Whether it’s a light workout, a hardcore weightlifting session, or the fun camaraderie of an instructor-led class, our Fitness Center truly delivers. It’s been great to see so many residents make it a part of their weekly routine.”

Also situated within The Lodge is Riverstone’s Gear Barn, a unique outfitters amenity reserved exclusively for residents. Its rental program allows families to get the equipment and information they need for a wide variety of on- and off-site adventures—everything from kayaking, camping and fishing to hiking and Sierra snow skiing.

Residents can grab bikes from the Gear Barn and go exploring the scenic beauty along Riverstone’s Old Farm Trail, the first section of which is now open. An exciting family-oriented amenity that’s been many years in the making, the trail, when completed in its entirety, is expected to intersect existing agricultural lands and extend to an overlook affording picturesque orchard vistas. A series of engaging outposts is being considered as a possible amenity along the trails, which could offer places for a workout, a picnic, or just a spot to relax while connecting to the natural soulfulness of the land.

The trail system is extensive—and available only to Riverstone residents. In the future, the private trails are envisioned to eventually link all of Riverstone’s residential districts together, creating a walk- and bike-friendly masterplan inviting easier connectivity as well as more social interaction and outdoor family activity.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes. Coming soon is the one-million-square-foot Riverwalk mixed-use lifestyle retail destination. Amenities at Riverstone include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, a dog park, a sustainable water supply and The Lodge community clubhouse with resort-style swimming pools, a trainer-designed fitness center, demonstration kitchen, Gear Barn, outdoor gathering spaces with firepits, and ongoing monthly activities such as self-defense classes, book clubs, arts and crafts, specialty meal cooking classes and more. Future amenities are anticipated to include hiking and biking trails, a community farm and much more.
