Parks are Everywhere at Riverstone

August 14, 2022

Parks are just another perk of everyday life at Riverstone, the 2,000-acre master-planned community just north of Fresno. The community is proud of its completion of seven built parks and each one is just a hop, skip or a jump away from Riverstone’s wide-ranging collections of new homes.

Just a short walk or bike ride away from Riverstone’s homes, Adventure Park offers play structures, climbing boulders, three different slides and grassy areas for all kinds of kid-sized fun.
With creatively imagined dog fountains and plenty of open-space areas, Central Bark—Riverstone’s dog park—is the go-to place for fur-forward fun and sociability.

Offering a variety of unique experiences, Riverstone’s parks are among its most popular family-friendly amenities. “We usually like to take the walking paths, enjoy the new flowers that are popping up, and then stop at the parks,” says homeowner Beth Murdock. “Each park has a different theme, so even though we’re doing the same type of thing every day, it’s completely different…and it keeps things fresh for the kids. It really adds to the quality of life.”

Adventure Park is a family favorite that definitely lives up to its name. Ideal for children, the park features play structures, climbing boulders, a permanent ping pong table and three different slides—all with a soft, spongy ground to safely cushion youngsters’ falls. There’s also a small amphitheater where parents can relax while keeping an eye on their children at play.

Designed as a place to kick back and enjoy a slower pace of life unplugged from often-hectic schedules, Garden Park features barbecue areas, a play structure for children and a large communal table ideal for outdoor dining.

Tournament Park, a favorite among many homeowner families, includes two pickleball courts, an outdoor shade structure, and a creative, street-like play area where kids can safely ride bikes—and Expedition Park offers a play structure, ping pong, community tables and barbecue areas where resident families can easily grill up hot dogs, burgers and other gameday favorites.

Kids and grown-ups alike enjoy friendly games of soccer on the mini field at Pavilion Park, which also features play equipment, tire swings and shaded picnic benches.

There’s even a Riverstone park designed for man’s best friend. Central Bark is a creatively imagined dog park that includes canine-loving amenities such as trees, dog fountains and open-space areas ideal for running, frolicking and disc catching. It’s become a popular hangout where dogs can get a little exercise while their owners can enjoy the camaraderie of other dog-loving residents. The park features separate areas for small dogs and big dogs, both with their own separate, gated entry to ensure a better, safer park-going experience.

An “urban park” of sorts will be available for everyone’s enjoyment with the full completion of Riverwalk, the community’s future outdoor-centric lifestyle retail destination that is anticipated to span 50 acres and more than one million square feet of commercial, Class-A office and retail space. Between Riverwalk’s new office buildings to the south and its retail offerings on the north, an area similar to San Jose’s Santana Row is being envisioned that will feature a river-like water element running through the heart of the project—and flanked by a variety of retailer kiosks, unique design elements and shaded spaces to sit and relax.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes. Coming soon is the one-million-square-foot Riverwalk mixed-use lifestyle retail destination. Amenities at Riverstone include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, a dog park, a sustainable water supply and The Lodge community clubhouse with resort-style swimming pools, a trainer-designed fitness center, demonstration kitchen, Gear Barn, outdoor gathering spaces with firepits, and ongoing monthly activities such as self-defense classes, book clubs, arts and crafts, specialty meal cooking classes and more. Future amenities are anticipated to include hiking and biking trails, a community farm and much more.
