Hundreds Celebrate Riverstone’s School Opening

July 25, 2021

Filled with excitement and anticipation, more than 400 people attended the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Stone Creek Elementary last month at the master-planned community of Riverstone. During the celebration—which featured food trucks and exciting games—visiting families had the opportunity to walk the campus, explore the classrooms, and get to know some of the teachers who answered parents’ questions regarding the upcoming school year.

Visiting families make their way into Riverstone’s brand-new Stone Creek Elementary following the school’s Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony.
Stone Creek Principal, Shellie Roth, was on hand to welcome potential students and parents.

“It was wonderful to unveil Stone Creek Elementary to the public,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “This new state-of-the-art school is a milestone in academic achievement, and so many people worked diligently for years to make it a reality. I’d like to thank our entire Riverstone staff, all our hardworking construction crews, incoming school Principal Shellie Roth, and the teachers and administrative staff of Golden Valley Unified School District.”

Stone Creek is Riverstone’s brand-new TK-6th grade school opening in August for the start of the 2021 school year—and it is available to all families living throughout the Central Valley. To sign up and enroll for the upcoming school year, interested families should email Shellie Roth at sroth@gvusd.org or call the GVUSD main office at (559) 395-5264.

The innovative 15.5-acre campus is conveniently situated just a short walk or bike ride away from Riverstone’s new-home collections. Stone Creek Elementary features tech-forward 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces, an outdoor amphitheater and a dynamic sports complex with the highest-quality ball fields and playgrounds.

Comprising nine schools serving nearly 2,000 students, Golden Valley USD maintains an exceptional student-teacher ratio of 24:1 and was named a Silver Award recipient for Best High Schools from U.S. News & World Report. Athletics are strong as well. Over the years, teams at the district’s high school—Liberty High School—have won multiple league championships and CIF Section Championships.

Also coming soon to Riverstone is Riverwalk, the vibrant, new indoor-outdoor retail lifestyle destination envisioned to offer a one-of-a-kind live-work-shop-dine-play experience. The one-million-square-foot, mixed-use destination will offer a collection of retail stores, restaurants, a movie theater and hotel, and a unique enclave of above-retail condominiums.

Individual retail tenants are expected to announce the details of their grand openings in late August. More information will be provided as the businesses approach their opening dates. Riverwalk’s first tenants will include Dutch Bros. Coffee and local favorite, Papi’s Mex Grill.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes. Amenities at Riverstone include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, a dog park, a sustainable water supply and The Lodge community clubhouse with resort-style swimming pools, a trainer-designed fitness center, demonstration kitchen, Gear Barn, outdoor gathering spaces with firepits, and ongoing monthly activities such as self-defense classes, book clubs, arts and crafts, specialty meal cooking classes and more. Future amenities are anticipated to include hiking and biking trails, a community farm and much more.
