Ribbon Cutting Set for Riverstone’s New School

June 25, 2021

Stone Creek Elementary, the brand-new TK-6th grade school at the master-planned community of Riverstone, will be unveiled to the public tomorrow. Open to anyone who would like to attend, the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Saturday is scheduled to take place at 9:00 am in front of the school’s main entrance near the Administration building.

Stone Creek Elementary is planned to feature 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces and an outdoor amphitheater.
Right on track for its planned opening in time for the 2021 school year, Stone Creek Elementary will feature a dynamic sports complex with high-quality sports courts, ball fields and playgrounds.

Shortly after the brief ceremony, visitors will be invited to walk through the campus, explore some of the classrooms and meet with teachers who can answer parents’ questions. Registration packets and more information will be available in the Administration building. The event will also feature food trucks and some fun and exciting games to enjoy—all with refreshing misters to keep everyone cool.

Representing a milestone in academic achievement realized by the developers of Riverstone and the administrative staff of the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District, Stone Creek Elementary will open in August for the start of the 2021 school year—and is available to all families living throughout the Central Valley.

An innovative 15.5-acre campus conveniently situated just a short walk or bike ride away from Riverstone’s new-home collections, the new school features tech-forward 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces, an outdoor amphitheater and a dynamic sports complex with the highest-quality ball fields and playgrounds.

“We’re obviously thrilled with our intelligently designed school campus and look forward to joining together with teachers, parents and incoming “Sunbird” students during tomorrow’s Ribbon Cutting,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “We know that for many of today’s families in search of a new home, a quality education is everything, and that makes our community an exciting proposition. With a new state-of-the-art school belonging to one of the Central Valley’s highest performing school districts, Riverstone is undoubtedly a great place to call home.”

Comprising nine schools serving nearly 2,000 students, Golden Valley USD maintains an exceptional student-teacher ratio of 24:1 and was named a Silver Award recipient for Best High Schools from U.S. News & World Report. Athletics are strong as well. Over the years, teams at the district’s high school—Liberty High School—have won multiple league championships and CIF Section Championships.

Also coming soon to Riverstone is Riverwalk, the vibrant, new indoor-outdoor retail lifestyle destination envisioned to offer a one-of-a-kind live-work-shop-dine-play experience. The one-million-square-foot, mixed-use destination will offer a collection of retail stores, restaurants, a movie theater and hotel, and a unique enclave of above-retail condominiums.

Individual retail tenants are expected to announce the details of their grand openings in late August. More information will be provided as the businesses approach their opening dates. Riverwalk’s first tenants will include Dutch Bros. Coffee and local favorite, Papi’s Mex Grill.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes. Amenities at Riverstone include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, a dog park, a sustainable water supply and The Lodge community clubhouse with resort-style swimming pools, a trainer-designed fitness center, demonstration kitchen, Gear Barn, outdoor gathering spaces with firepits, and ongoing monthly activities such as self-defense classes, book clubs, arts and crafts, specialty meal cooking classes and more. Future amenities are anticipated to include hiking and biking trails, a community farm and much more.
