Riverstone’s Stone Creek Elementary Underway

For many people, the current learn-at-home situation is shedding new light on the importance of education and what it means to reside within a quality school district. Riverstone’s future on-site school—Stone Creek Elementary—is planned to feature 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces, an outdoor amphitheater and a dynamic sports complex.

Vertical construction will soon begin on the first two administration buildings of Stone Creek Elementary School. The sprawling 15-acre campus conveniently situated near Riverstone’s new homes is on track to open August 2021.

With foundations now set for the first two administration buildings, Stone Creek Elementary is right on track for its planned opening in time for the 2021 school year.

Belonging to the award-winning Golden Valley USD and only a short walk or bike ride away from Riverstone’s neighborhoods of homes, the innovative 15.5-acre campus of Stone Creek is planned to feature tech-forward 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces, an outdoor amphitheater and a dynamic sports complex.

The campus will be the first elementary school built under Golden Valley USD (the district broke away from Madera Unified School District in 1998).

Comprising nine schools serving nearly 2,000 students, Golden Valley USD maintains an exceptional student-teacher ratio of 24:1, and was named a Silver Award recipient for Best High Schools from U.S. News & World Report.

One of the district’s shining stars—Webster Elementary—was recently named a 2020 California Distinguished School, a prestigious accolade that honors some of California's most exemplary and inspiring public schools. Webster Elementary is the temporary home for TK-6th graders and their families living at Riverstone. With a school-wide attendance rate of 98%, Webster boasts the highest percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards in the district. More than 60% of students met or exceeded standards in both ELA (English Language Arts) and math for 3rd through 6th grades.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes.
