An Eventful Summer Planned for Riverstone

The recent opening of Central Bark—the new dog park for Riverstone residents—is the perfect way to kick off the carefree, laid-back “dog days of summer.” But it’s only one example of the many ways in which the 2,000-acre master-planned community will be offering a fun-filled summer for its many homeowner families.

Riverstone residents gathered on the Event Lawn at The Lodge to take in a free Summer Concert featuring the Reckless Country Band.

Kids enjoyed all kinds of reptile-handling fun at Riverstone’s three-day KidsFest Summer Camp, which included everything from gymnastics and swimming, to zip-lining and water balloon fun.

“At Riverstone, we’ve always said you get more than a home—you get a lifestyle,” commented Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “It’s a lifestyle, according to many of our residents, that’s even more special in summer, and this year will be no exception. We have a full lineup of exciting summertime events and activities in store for Riverstone families, and most of the fun involves heading outdoors to enjoy good food and the company of great neighbors. Like I’ve said before, I don’t think you’ll find a community anywhere with a more active social calendar.”

A popular event series with families—Movies Under the Stars at The Lodge Amphitheater—begins this month and runs through September with planned screenings such as Creed 2 and Ralph Breaks the Internet. Riverstone’s Summer Concert series—complete with a variety of food trucks to keep happy concertgoers well fed—kicks off next month with three concerts planned from June to August.

Happy campers will again come together in August for the return of Riverstone’s KidsFest Summer Camp, which essentially packs an entire summer’s worth of fun into three action-filled days. For last year’s event, kids ages 3-12 received a camp t-shirt, enjoyed PB&J sandwich and hot dog lunches, made their own pizzas and animal cookies, and participated in three full days of activities—including gymnastics, swimming, zip-lining, Bounce Houses, Little Chef’s Cooking Classes, water balloon fun and interacting with a variety of animals and reptiles.

On two summer evenings in July and August, resident families will come together for what is shaping up to be one of Riverstone’s favorite summertime family events: “Dive-In” Movie Nights Under the Stars at The Lodge’s resort-style pool. It’s an enjoyable (and refreshingly cool) occasion for all—especially kids—as cinemagoers watch movies from the comfort of their own raft or other floatable water toy.

Just about every summer month at Riverstone will present adult-only events, such as the Unwind wine-tasting get-together in July and the Corks & Forks spaghetti and wine dinner scheduled for August. Fun events every summer month paying tribute to special nationwide celebrations will honor National Donut Day, National Vanilla Ice Cream Day and National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.

The Lodge at Riverstone—the community’s first resort-style clubhouse located in the Lodge District residential neighborhood—is the social epicenter for all kinds of get-togethers. In addition to seasonal, community-wide events, the helpful Events Coordinator at The Lodge is available to help residents plan their very own family celebrations—whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or some other milestone.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes, as well as commercial and mixed-use space including office, service and retail.
