Springtime Fun Enjoyed at Riverstone

April 18, 2021

For the award-winning, 2,000-acre master-planned community of Riverstone, springtime has always been a reason to celebrate. Over the past week, many resident families came together in the enjoyment of creatively imagined activities and events. While this year’s festivities were a bit more low-key and socially distanced—they were still enjoyed by all.

Many families at Riverstone had all sorts of fun “egging” each other with colorful surprises placed on each other’s front lawns.
Festive baskets full of sweet treats were handed out by Alice and the Mad Hatter at Riverstone’s recent Easter EGG-Stravaganza drive-thru event.

Resident families had fun decking out their porches and patios with all sorts of decorations, then submitting photos of their creative artistry online to enter the Spring Porch Contest. The winners really went all out—with imaginative and very colorful displays that featured everything from flowers and bunnies to wreaths and signs.

During a special drive-thru community event—the Easter EGG-Stravaganza—Riverstone families received springtime treats and sweets from a whole cast of costumed characters such as the Mad Hatter, Alice in Wonderland, the Red Queen and, of course, the Easter Bunny.

Getting “egged” was a fun neighbor-to-neighbor activity that was enjoyed by many residents. Neighbors “egged” one another with big, colorful eggs and signs that just suddenly appeared on their front lawns. The fun idea was actually hatched up by a Riverstone resident who owns a small business called Sassy Yard Cards.

“Belonging to a close-knit community of neighbors and friends…that’s one of the top reasons why people call us home,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “It’s great to see the many imaginative online activities and safe, socially distanced experiences that are happening all the time at Riverstone. It’s so rewarding for everyone on our team to be able to help create happy memories for our homeowners by bringing people together in fun and exciting ways.”

The vibrant sense of community and camaraderie may have played a part in Riverstone’s recent winning of the prestigious 2021 CVLUX Community of the Year Award. This year’s win marks the third consecutive year that Riverstone has been recognized with the accolade. Determined by the voting public, the award honors only the best of the best in the Central Valley.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes. Coming soon is the one-million-square-foot Riverwalk mixed-use lifestyle retail destination. Amenities at Riverstone include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, a dog park, a sustainable water supply and The Lodge community clubhouse with resort-style swimming pools, a trainer-designed fitness center, demonstration kitchen, Gear Barn, outdoor gathering spaces with firepits, and ongoing monthly activities such as self-defense classes, book clubs, arts and crafts, specialty meal cooking classes and more. Future amenities are anticipated to include hiking and biking trails, a community farm and the on-site Stone Creek Elementary school belonging to the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District.
