Excitement Grows for Riverstone’s Future Retail District

March 30, 2019

The planning and marketing activities continue for Riverwalk, the brand-new, highly anticipated shopping, dining and entertainment destination envisioned for the Madera County master-planned community of Riverstone. Planned for more than one million square feet of commercial, Class-A office and retail space on two parcels located at Avenue 12 and Highway 41 just north of Fresno, Riverwalk is expected to provide visitors with a one-of-a-kind, indoor-outdoor retail experience that celebrates the agrarian heritage of both Riverstone and the region.

Riverstone’s planned retail district—Riverwalk—will feature a limited collection of stylish, above-retail condominiums promising a unique way of life within a dynamic urban setting. Image is an artist’s rendition.
Featuring a contemporary-agrarian design aesthetic accented by creative landscaping and water features, Riverwalk is planned to include condominiums, offices, restaurants, retail stores and a movie theater. Image is an artist’s rendition.

“The roll-out of Riverwalk is creating quite a buzz with both the retail and office tenant markets, indicating a very strong interest in the project,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “As we finalize Riverwalk’s site plan and refine the design details, our goal continues to be the creation of a fun and vibrant gathering place for the entire area—something that, until now, has been largely non-existent in the North Fresno area. Since originality has always been the singular concept behind everything we do, we’re striving to create a truly creative retail experience. We’re planning Riverwalk to become a dynamic, day-to-night destination that serves as a social epicenter where people of all ages can go shopping, catch a movie, enjoy a delicious farm-to-table lunch or dinner, or just hang around and do a little people-watching. Best of all, Riverwalk will be just across the road from the first collections of new homes at Riverstone—so all these brand-new shopping, culinary, social and entertainment offerings will be just steps away for our residents.”

Experiences of the canine variety are now found at Central Bark, Riverstone’s brand-new dog park. In addition, hiking and biking trails are on their way, which are planned to eventually link all of Riverstone’s residential districts together. The first trail completed is anticipated to intersect existing agricultural lands, and extend to an overlook affording picturesque orchard vistas.

The dedication of Riverstone’s developers to go beyond the status quo may have been a deciding factor in the community’s recent winning of the CVLUX 2019 Luxury Award for Community of the Year. Determined by a vote of the general public, the prestigious accolade honors only the best of the best in the Central Valley. The recent win comes on the heels of last year’s most notable achievement for Riverstone: the coveted Gold Award for 2018 Best Master-Planned Community of The Year awarded by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes, as well as commercial and mixed-use space including office, service and retail. Amenities at Riverstone are anticipated to include walkable neighborhoods, parks and open space, multiple community clubhouses, hiking and biking trails, a dog park, a community farm, historic olive and citrus groves, a sustainable water supply, and on-site schools belonging to the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District.
